Qatar’s soccer stadium at a distance of 12 miles from Doha is getting prepared for hosting the World Cup 2022. The stadium with 40,000 seating capacity is almost ready. Only interiors, roof, and facades are in progress. The stadium is expected to complete by 2019 as mentioned by Qatar’s Supreme Committee for Delivery and legacy. It was announced that the energy center of the stadium is fully completed. Hard landscaping and pending infrastructure is progressing.
As soon as the unveiling pictures of the stadium were out, the fans immediately observed the pinkish stadium in resemblance to a female body part. Soon, the internet was flooded with female genitalia memes and tweets pertaining to the stadium. The Al Wakrah stadium is designed by late Dame Zaha Hadid, a British Iraqi architect who passed away in 2016. She is popular for designing the Guangzhou opera house in China, Italy’s MAXXI museum and the aquatics center for London Olympics 2012. She was in the list of Times’s 100 most influential people in 2010.
